What is Cannabidiol (CBD)?
Cannabidiol (CBD) is a natural compound that comes from the leaves, stalks and flowers of industrial hemp or marijuana cannabis. It is the most widely-accepted non-intoxicating cannabinoid found in Cannabis sativa plants or hemp-based CBD extracts. Even though they both derive from the same plant, CBD and marijuana should not be confused together – All of our Forma Broad-Spectrum CBD products contain CBD extracted from industrial hemp.
What is a Cannabinoid?
Cannabinoids are molecular compounds naturally made from Cannabis sativa plants; however, they are also found in other plants and produced inside our bodies. Cannabinoids are classified as fatty compounds that play vital roles within our immune and central nervous system.
Will CBD help me?
Although not designated by the FDA as a health product, numerous studies have shown CBD’s various health benefits. Please read our product descriptions to identify the best products for you and your situation. There is also a wealth of research available online. However, we do not make any specific health claims about our products. As with any supplement, please consult your physician before use.
Is CBD Legal?
Thanks to the 2018 Farm Bill, hemp and hemp-derived products are legal to produce, sell, and consume throughout all 50 states. These products must be derived from industrial hemp containing less than 0.3 percent THC.
As such, there are no legal restrictions on their importation, production, sale or consumption in the United States, as well as most of the industrialized world. Hemp oil is legal in over 40 countries around the globe. Hemp oil is consumed by millions of people around the planet, and this number is rapidly rising as an increasing number of studies explore hemp’s numerous health benefits.
Will I need a marijuana card or doctor’s prescription to use Forma products?
Forma products contain hemp-based CBD, which is federally legal to be purchased anywhere in the U.S. without a doctor's prescription or marijuana card. Federal and state laws don’t always align and may cause confusion. Please check your local state laws to verify that CBD is legal in your state.
Will using CBD oil show up on a drug test?
While hemp-based CBD products are manufactured from hemp plants containing less than 0.3% THC, there are still trace amounts. There is a small chance that consuming CBD may lead to a positive drug test for THC, as it does with any product made from hemp. If this is a significant concern, we advise speaking with your employer or doctor before use.
Will I Get "High" from Using CBD?
Because CBD is a non-intoxicating component from industrial hemp, which legally must have less than 0.3 percent of Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), there’s no “high” or euphoric effect as a result of using hemp-derived CBD.
Is CBD psychoactive?
No. Hemp oil contains CBD, the non-psychoactive compound of the cannabis plant. Hemp oil does not have the psychoactive qualities found in THC. While using CBD, you can maintain a clear mind and active lifestyle.
How long does it take to feel the effects of CBD?
Properties of CBD will vary for each individual depending on height, weight, and the quantity of CBD taken. Because there are no intoxicating ingredients with CBD oil, there is no “high” effect; start with small amounts and gradually increase with each use until reaching desired results.
Why am I not feeling the desired effect?
The first thing to remember is CBD is not THC. It does not provide any psychoactive effects, the feeling of being “high.” The relaxing effect of CBD depends on many factors, including the amount consumed, the rate at which it is consumed, your body mass, and your metabolism. Feel free to try our other products in search of your desired effect.
How much CBD should I take?
It is recommended to consult a doctor or health professional to determine an amount right for you. Since each person’s body structure is unique, it is difficult to set a predetermined measurement that is right for everyone.
How is Hemp different from marijuana?
Hemp and marijuana come from the same plant family, Cannabis sativa. The main difference between the two is their level of Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) – the illegal, psychotropic cannabinoid. Hemp is not marijuana, and it will not give you the “high” sensation.
According to the Agricultural Act of 2014, American legislation describes legal hemp plants as containing less than 0.3 percent THC.
Another way to look at it is to compare them to citrus fruit. Cannabis is like citrus fruits, comparing lemons to hemp and oranges to marijuana. They are related but not the same and have their own unique properties as mentioned above.
